Moonlight Hiking Event

Dear Moonlight Hikers,
the moonlight calls us back!
The Hiking Dubrovnik team is happy to revive our free Moonlight Hiking event, which is returning after a long break.

The Full Moon of May is known as "Flower Moon" to signify the flowers that bloom during this month.
This year, it is also a Micromoon, which means it is near the point in its orbit where it is farthest from Earth. It won’t look any smaller. It may seem bigger because of an optical illusion known as the Moon illusion.

We invite all nature lovers and people of goodwill to join us for a free moonlight hike on Mt. Srđ – and let’s see together if it’s really true! 

Let’s bring back the magic of night hikes and enjoy the full moon above Dubrovnik – still the most beautiful full moon in Croatia!

Mt. Srđ is 412 meters high!
Distance: 8 km (approx. 5.5 miles) – moderate effort
Duration: 3 hours
Recommended age: 12+

Meeting point: Jadranska cesta (main road), at the start of the serpentine footpath

The hike ends in the Old Town Dubrovnik.

What to bring:
-Flashlight or headlamp
-Layers (it gets cooler at night)
-Sturdy shoes
-At least 1L of water
-Snacks & cakes
